Description
This set consists of four small plates featuring iconic patterns. Two are shaped like Unikko flowers and two feature the Kivet pattern. The plates are made of ceramic and feature glazes in various colors that create a playful and decorative look. We recommend hand washing to preserve both the shape and surface over time.
The set comes in a gift box featuring Marimekko’s logo pattern, making it a lovely gift for someone who appreciates design with that little extra touch.
Unikko is one of the brand’s most beloved patterns and a symbol of creativity and courage. When the pattern was created, flowers were uncommon in collections, but designer Maija Isola chose to go her own way and created an entire series of innovative floral patterns that are now considered design classics.
Kivet, which means stones, is based on hand-cut circular shapes. The pattern is said to have been inspired by the large, rough stones that were once cleared from the ground around the designer’s studio home.
